When the organisers of the Aden Beer Festival approached Taesea, they were looking for more than just a logo, they needed a brand identity that would reflect their values, engage their community, and capture the spirit of celebration unique to this new Scottish event.
Taesea initiated the project by conducting comprehensive research to understand the competitive landscape. This work yielded important insights, helping to define potential target demographics.
Competing events were analysed to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, trend analysis highlighted rising trends in the beer festival scene, particularly the increasing popularity of craft beers and independent events.
Crafting a Playful Identity with a Highland Twist
At the heart of the festival’s new visual identity is a stylised Highland cow, a character deeply connected to Scotland’s rural charm and cultural heritage. By placing a foaming pint of beer in the cow’s hoof, we brought a light-hearted, welcoming personality to the logo, instantly communicating the festival’s joyful, sociable spirit.
This instantly recognisable mascot invites both locals and visitors to take part in a celebration that’s rooted in tradition but full of modern energy.
Vibrant Colour Palette
We selected a bold and lively colour scheme, using energetic blues, bright pinks, and warm, earthy tones to ensure strong visibility and a memorable visual impression. These colours not only reflect the dynamic nature of the event but also allow the brand to stand out across print, digital, and on-site applications.
Typography That Speaks the Festival’s Language
To complement the illustrative style, we used playful, hand-drawn typography that mirrors the casual and friendly tone of the festival. The hand-drawn lettering style reinforces authenticity and helps reinforce the grassroots, community-driven feel of the event.
